Service Director, Human Resources and Organisational Development, Plymouth City Council | Salary £82,949 - £115,330 per annum | Relocation package up to £8,000

There is no better time to join us. As we embark on an exciting journey of organisational development, we are looking for a leader that ensures we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time, and that our strategies and structures are effective. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organisation, enabling us to become the best we can be through improved governance, decision-making, asset planning, and a stronger customer focus.

As a senior leader reporting to the Director of Resources, you will play a proactive role in revising our people plan, ensuring that all of our people have access and the opportunities to train and develop into the best managers and leaders they can be. We are an action orientated organisation that values learning through doing; you will promote this attitude whilst continuing to foster a collaborative work environment, both within the organisation and externally with our valued partners.

At the heart of our change projects, your role will be critical in designing and implementing effective strategies, building strong relationships and cultivating employee engagement. Whether your background is in Human Resources or Organisational Development & Design, we are looking for a well-grounded and rounded professional that has the experience and confidence to lead all aspects of our service.

We were named "Council of the Year" in 2021, join us on our journey to reclaim that title in 2025. This is your chance to be part of a transformational organisation, where you can develop your career and gain invaluable expertise. Together with our new administration, innovative and inclusive values, you will be at the heart of the next stage of our growth.
